Even an election year can’t save ‘West Wing’ from itself

The tragedy – and it’s all of that – is that Sorkin assembled one of the best and brightest casts in the history of TV. For the past year, some of us have been tuning in just because we’d happily watch Martin Sheen, Stockard Channing, Allison Janney, Richard Schiff and Bradley Whitford enact for us the back of a box of Cocoa Puffs.

And oh, yeah…I miss ya, Sam Seaborn.
