I’ve started setting myself some writing goals.
I think it would be in my best interests to, in preparation for NaNoWriMo, to begin setting aside some time for writing each day. Not necessarily word counts right now, since I’ll be wanting to use some of that time to prepare for NaNo. My thinking is to get in the habit of using that time for writing projects and to keep at it.
I’ve got some ideas…I just need to decide what I want to go with. I’ve been thinking that I want to tackle a YA novel. I’ve always been drawn to YA literature, and many of my favorite books are in this field.
When I did the Artist’s Way Book, the MAIN part of the program (the one that I floundered the most at) was the MORNING PAGES. Every single morning, just write 3 pages long hand of ANYTHING that comes to your head, just to get in the practice of writing and you are not allowed to look back until one of the later weeks…I found several days I wrote more than 3 pages (me, shocker!) and other days I refused to write at all and stayed in bed and tried to write LATER that day (which was not the point, the point was first thing, get it out fresh and uncomplicated)

Just a thought…I need to get back into the program too.
