Blech

I woke up feeling sick-ish today, and of course I had to work. Basically, I’m just trying to get through the day. I don’t feel quite as icky as I did when I woke up, but I’m on Day-Quil. I just want to crawl into bed, though, and I have what my friend Ray calls “sick eyes”. You know, that glassy, glazed over look your eyes get when you’re not feeling well?

I wanted some juice to drink, so I got a can of this Snapple 100% juice they sell in the cafeteria here. It’s strawberry lime. I’m thinking maybe I should have tried a different flavor. I wanted the Minute Maid juice medley, but that machine wouldn’t take my money. Feh.

I’ve been at least a little bit productive, though…I’ve been updating my syllabus, and I’m about halfway through The Awakening.

Okay, I just caught myself spacing. God, do I want to go to sleep. Sigh.

  1. Hot herbal tea. Although my mother would say “Dry toast and warm peaches” which I believe would make you feel worse. And my grandmother would say “Boneset tea” which is a blend of herbs which when boiled for a day produces a think, black-as-used-motor-oil, smelly concoction that tastes exactly like what I believe death would taste like- if served warm.

My suggestion- stick with hot herbal tea. Feel better!!!
