Farewells

I wish I had time to share my thoughts about the first week of school. Alas, I do not. Tonight, Rand and I will be heading to Cleveland–usually, my trips to Cleveland are happy ones to spend time with friends. This time, though, we will be saying goodbye to one.

My friend Jen’s mom lost her battle with breast cancer this week. She was a beautiful, vibrant woman with a heart full of love, and she will be dearly missed by many people.

Donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure (link is to the Team Russo homepage).

I also learned, when I got home from school today, that Madeline L’Engle, author of my favorite book, died today. I’ll post more thoughts about that one at a later time.

  1. I am so sorry to hear that Jen’s mother lost her fight eith Cancer. It is so hard to have your parents or grandparents leave us. No matter how many years we are gifted with them here on earth—we always desire more. I will be thinking and praying for Jen as she goes thru this time of grieving. It was very nice that you and Rand could get to express your sympathy to her and family by traveling to Ohio to see her.
