Finding myself with some free time this evening, I tore myself away from the computer and ventured out into the great big world.
First, I took myself out for some ice cream.
Jenny’s Ice Cream in the village of Williamsville is a truly amazing place. Homemade ice cream. My favorite is peanut butter. It’s not a peanut butter swirl; it’s just peanut butter ice cream, made with real peanut butter. Good plain, good with hot fudge. Today, I went plain and had a cone. (which later led to disaster, when the cone leaked all over my shirt. wah.)
Cone in hand, I headed over to Glen Park, found a shady bench, and journaled for a while. First, in my rambling personal journal, then in my writing journal. Most of my writing journals lately have been in the voice of the main character of the screenplay I’m working on. I’m still finding her voice, figuring out her backstory. When I got home, I started typing her “journal entries” into a word document so I can keep track of them.
And I came home feeling refreshed and revitalized, with a much more positive outlook on life in general.
