This is the latest in my calligraphy offerings…a wedding gift for Kelly and Ben. Their wedding had a Hollywood theme–hence the stickers used.
You can read more about my calligraphy here, and view more samples at flickr here.
On a completely unrelated note, I went for a very nice walk last night, and as I walked, I couldn’t help thinking about how, well, happy I am. Life is good.
And on an even more unrelated note, a poll. How long would you say is the life of a mattress?
Mr. Unrelated Note. GO MATTRESS SHOPPING YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!!!!!!!

If you thinks its time for a new mattress, you are probably way overdue! Love the bed you’re in. I miss mine! Hotel beds suck after the first week.
Out of curosity, what were some of the things Kelly and Ben did for their Hollywood wedding? Julie and I did the same kind of thing; the tables were named after classic movies like Roman Holiday and Star Wars, people received “tickets” to find out where they were sitting, the cake was a movie reel with iconic movie imagery, and the favors were the big concession sized candy boxes. But apparently at the place we had the reception, they said they never had a movie theme before (which struck me as odd, since they don’t allow table numbers, so you have to find another way to designate tables).
Well, the invitations were in the form of tickets, they had a “red carpet” in the entryway, tables were named after movies the couple liked (though not necessarily classic movies…we sat at The Wedding Singer), we had popcorn during the cocktail hour…
One of their friends made mock “movie poster” images using photos of the couple that were displayed on the guestbook table and included in the invitations. The Princess Bride, Muriel’s Wedding, Bride of Wolfman…and several others. I’m sure there was more that I’m not remembering…
That’s cool. I thought about the movie poster idea for a little while, and then I kinda lost it.
Still, everybody should have themed weddings. It really adds to the conversation.
And I’ve got nothing on mattresses. I figure it’s time for a new one whenever the Mrs. mentions it or I can’t physically move in the morning, whichever comes first. Guys are fairly useless in such matters.
The photo does not even begin to do this piece justice. It is truly beautiful and Ben and I are honored to have it in our home.
On the subject of mattresses – If it’s shaped like a taco, replace it.
Kelly, I’m so glad you like it. Do I have your permission to use your comment as a testimonial? ๐
