Through the magic that is Jack FM, I heard Inside Out on the radio yesterday. It was one of those “rocking out in the car” moments. I liked that song a lot when it first came out, but when X and I broke up, it became one of my breakup anthems. I had a whole CD of them. So of course, this got me thinking about my favorite breakup songs:Proofrock (Jackdaw)

Well, then of course there are the loads and loads of sad breakup songs, but during that particular breakup, I was focused on the angry ones. I needed my anger. I held onto it like a security blanket…because letting go of the anger would mean giving in to the sadness. I built myself a wall, and I still have trouble getting around that wall to remember why it was I loved X in the first place.
