This is me with my sister-in-law Leslie. You see, Leslie has not only become my sister through marriage, but we’re in the same sorority! Dorkiness abounds.

And please, save all of your obscene comments. It’s a diamond. 😉

Thanksgiving night, despite my whinings and protestations, several of my family members went out to Dino’s Place, one of the many local dives. For whatever reason, Dino’s (previously Jed’s, and previously Diamond Dick’s, and no I’m not making that up) seems to be the Mecca for young people coming home on breaks. I can’t explain it, but it was that way when I was in college. If you came home and you wanted to bump into people from high school, you went to Dino’s.

Anyway. My main protest was the cigarette smoke. You can still smoke in bars in PA, you know, and I’m spoiled. Smoke makes me whiny.

But, once they got me there and I had a drink or two, it was fine. As the night progressed, Leslie and I talked a bit about the sorority. I told her a story about this guy, Tyler, who really wanted to become a member of the sorority, to the point where he learned one of our songs/cheers. I demonstrated, and Leslie and I proceeded to do the whole cheer. In the bar. (It was “Boom Boom,” for anyone reading who would know about that sort of thing…)
