Random Thoughts 101 posted a poll. What are your top 5 TV shows of all time.
Of all time? Yikes. Okay, here goes…
1. The West Wing
2. Alias
3. Lost
4. Scrubs
5. Arrested Development
My “runners up”:
Sports Night
Six Feet Under
Cheers
Family Ties
Buffy/Angel
Friends
Quantum Leap
I absolutely adored Wonderfalls, but it wasn’t on long enough to make the list. I could go on, but I won’t. 😉
I have to agree with Steve, who commented on the original post. I don’t get Family Guy. (and believe me, I love me some Beavis and Butthead, and South Park) And I’ve shared my thoughts on Seinfeld in the past. Except for a few brief experiences, I’ve pretty much avoided reality TV. Give me good writing, and I’m happy.
This is Hard. Im going to want to change it later. Not in Order.
Carol Burnett
Soap
Barney Miller
Rockford Files
Farscape
Mini series
Rich Man Poor Man
Current Favs just 4
Stragate Atlantis
Corner Gas

I’ll add best themes.
Perry Mason- a great cool tune
Hawaii 5-0
Green Hornet- (more for Kill Bill but..)
Mash
Hill Street Blues
I noticed some Brit coms on the original thread. I’ve always like British Humor.
There was a Show that Followed the Young ones with some cast members I liked better.there was one Episode where they formed a band that I remember as hilarious.
There was a show on AE in the 80’s called Rising Damp that I could’nt miss. ( I think it was about ten years old at the time)
I loved all the Black Adders. But not a big Atkinson fan.
Secret army was Good.
Good Nieghbors. God that blonde was so cute 🙂
What was the WWII comedy in Renes Cafe. that was good.
Of Course Python. ” My Hovercraft is full of eels”
Was there a show called “Bounder” ? I seem to remember liking that.
Hmmm.
All-time:
1. M*A*S*H
2. Lost
3. Star Trek
4. Star Trek: The Next Generation
5. a multi-part tie between Taxi, Northern Exposure, the X-Files, Doctor Who, Deep Space Nine, The Simpsons, JLU, etc. etc. etc. And I admit with no shame, bback in the 70s I was a big fan of Grizzly Adams.
Current:
1. Lost
2. Doctor Who (just seen three episodes and love it already)
3. The Simpsons (I don’t watch it regularly, but any episode is a guaranteed fun half-hour
4. The Amazing Race (the class among “reality” TV)
5. either The Boondocks, Smallville or Letterman on a good night. The Daily Show is fabulous, of course.
Hmmm, that’s tough and highly subjective, so these are my favorites (for today), but not necessarily the best:
1. The original Star Trek
2. M*A*S*H
3. Northern Exposure
4. The Wonder Years
5. Lost
Honourable Mentions:
Politically Incorrect
Firefly
Babylon 5
The Daily Show
Quantum Leap
MythBusters
See you tonight!
