30 Day Challenge – Day 7

Favorite TV Show

Really?

I love TV. In fact, there’s a 30-day meme going around that’s ALL TV that I might have to do when this one is finished. But in the meantime…

There are so many things to love about The West Wing. I had a hard time choosing a scene to post, but I do rather like this one where Ainsley Hayes meets the president for the first time.

I love this show. I love the writing. I love the characters, and the actors who play them. I love the blend of drama and comedy. I love everything about it.

I have lots more to say about TV, so I think I will be doing that other meme. 😉

Reading, watching, listening

Reading: Just finished The Fourth Bear…brief comments over at the places i go

Watching: Went to see Little Miss Sunshine last night. Despite what Entertainment Weekly had to say (they didn’t like it much), I thought it was great. Steve Carell was fantastic in an understated (but still very funny) role. The scenes at the end, at the pageant, were horrifying, as I suspect they were meant to be. My two favorite moments involved Olive and her brother Dwayne: “Go hug mom” and “Okay. Let’s go.”

Watched the first episode of Deadwood, from Netflix. Not sure I’m completely sold yet…anyone want to talk me into it?

Working through season five of The West Wing. I finally got to see The Supremes in its entirety, which was a fantastic episode. It was definitely rocky without Sorkin, but there are a few moments of greatness in this season.

Also watched the pilot for Kidnapped. Great cast, interesting premise, but I’m not sure I want to invest the time.

Listening: Hmm…what am I listening to these days? I’ve gotten a taste of The Raconteurs (read jennimi’s post about them) and I’ve been enjoying that, despite never having been a fan of the White Stripes.

Hope everyone’s having a good weekend!

Squee!

I just watched The West Wing, which I hadn’t watched since the live debate episode.

I actually thought it was very well done…this may not be Sorkin’s show anymore, but it has become compelling television again.

I don’t think I knew that Bruno was back, though working for the Vinick campaign.

The whole time, I kept thinking about how impossible it would be for a new or casual viewer to keep up. This show had a large cast before, and it’s at least doubled with the campaigns. Yikes.

Anyway, the thing that made me squeal like the little fangirl I am was the sight of Sam Seaborn in the previews!!! I’d read that he was coming back for the end, but seeing him just made my little heart smile.

Also coming back are Danny, Amy, Joey Lucas, and Ainsley Hayes.

But Sam! Oh, happy dance…

‘Course, all this joy is dampened with the knowledge that Leo’s funeral is also coming up…
🙁
