I’m not dead yet!

Well, friends…it looks like the Save Veronica front is still alive and well! The folks at Ain’t It Cool News have put together this plea.

There’s an online petition, snail mail addresses of CW execs, a “Bars for Mars” campaign…and lots of other stuff.

I don’t think I need to talk any more about how much I love this show. I love this show. I’d love to see it get another season, even if it’s the future-set, retooled, Veronica goes to the FBI thing.

Help Save Veronica!

Reading, watching, listening

Reading: Current read is Tantalize by Cynthia Leitich Smith, who so happens to be a sorority sister. Cool! I should finish that today.

Recently finished Size 12 Is Not Fat by Meg Cabot, the first in her “Heather Wells Mysteries” series. As I’ve said many, many times, Meg Cabot is always a great read.

I also finished Coal Run by Tawni O’Dell. O’Dell writes stories that are set in the general area of PA where I grew up…not precisely where I grew up, but in the “hey, we played them in football” area. She writes really well about tragedy and dysfunction, creating flawed but utterly human characters.

Also continuing to read and enjoy Daredevil.

Watching: I finally watched the last few episodes of Veronica Mars that TiVo saved for me. I liked the last couple of episodes for an end to the season…but if the show doesn’t come back for another? (the CW is still dangling a shred of hope over our heads…) Then the last episode was unmercifully cruel. Bah.

Movies…I haven’t seen a new movie in the last little bit, but Rand and I watched This Film is Not Yet Rated over the weekend. It seems like we watched a whole bunch of stuff, but I’m having trouble remembering what…oh well.

Listening: As you may have noticed, I’ve been on a bit of a Dixie Chicks kick. TiVo recorded their appearance on Austin City Limits, which was pretty cool. I’m still loving “Taking the Long Way.” 🙂

Save Veronica!

Esther posted an excellent plea to save Veronica Mars. As you know, I agree with pretty much everything she said. Seasons one and two were absolutely brilliant TV. The theme song rocks, hard.

I have just one thing to add to her list: Jason Dohring’s character arc (as Logan) during season one was remarkable. I hated that spoiled, rich little punk with fiery passion at the beginning of the season, and by the end? My heart ached for him. That’s good TV.

I’m not holding my breath…I’ve had my hopes dashed on the rocks too many times…but it’s worth a shot. If you can, help out in the effort to Save Veronica!

Not my day

I don’t know which is worse…the news that I need to get a new alternator, or realizing that TiVo has failed me.

TiVo did not record last night’s episode of Veronica Mars. Why? I dunno. It just didn’t. And also? It doesn’t appear to be available for download on iTunes. Why? I dunno.

*Grumble*

Veronica Mars continues to rock

The guest stars! I love it!

Ed Begley Jr., in a recurring role as the Dean. Laura San Giacamo as a (married) love interest for Keith (Enrico Colantoni). Her first line made me laugh out loud: “Hi, remember me?” (those who watched Just Shoot Me will remember that Maya [San Giacamo] and Elliot [Colantoni] were an item.)

And now? Charles Shaughnessey, who I suppose most people would remember as Mr. Sheffield from The Nanny, but who I remember as sexy spy Shane Donovan in the glory days of Days of Our Lives.

Ah, my youth.

Anyway, I’m now nearly caught up. I do believe the only episode I have left to watch is the one that aired this week. Yay, me! Yay, Veronica Mars!

And Kristen Bell continues to blow my mind. That scene where she broke down in the shower? After the Logan break up? Broke my little heart.

Bad news indeed…

From ain’t it cool news:

“Veronica Mars” returns with new episodes on Tuesday, but following February sweeps will disappear again for eight weeks, to be replaced by the reality series “Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll.”

When “Mars” returns with its final five episodes, there apparently will be no final multiepisode story-arc to end its first season on the CW.

This does not bode well.

I’m not up-to-date yet–I just watched the season 3 opener–so I can’t speak as to whether season 3 is good or not. But ending the season with five stand-alone episodes? This show is all about the multiepisode story arc.
